August 2010

August has been a busy month for us. Tim had to go to NTC in California at Fort Irwin, so the other two Mortons took off for Alabama!

Baby's first plane ride... she slept all the way from Elizabethtown until we got to Alex City. She was a good little traveler!

I had thought that she might enjoy the pool because she really enjoys bath time...but she didn't seem to like it.

However, she did enjoy napping in the shade.

Look how happy Madeline was when I told her we'd be back with Daddy in a few days!

June and July of this year were a fog- getting used to the new baby and all of us getting settled. She is such a delightful baby girl... just starting to smile and interact with us. Maddie has had a hard time sleeping through the night so far- or really, it's Tim and I having the hard time, she seems quite happy waking up every two or three hours, haha! We are finally getting into a routine. She is starting to be more alert, and she enjoys swinging in her baby swing now that she's holding her head up more.

This was our first night home together as a family (Madeline had to spend an extra night in the hospital because of jaundice). What a wonderful feeling to have her here with us, safe and healthy- nothing better in the world.

Tim is such a sweet daddy... I think Madeline will definitely be a Daddy's Girl.


4th of July weekend, Grandmother, Mimi and Pop and Alison all came for a visit.

We all had such a nice 4th of July weekend. Madeline was only about 3 weeks old, but she really did well with all the guests. She likes being around people, and is pretty laid back about new faces. We enjoyed all spending time together- cooked out, set off fireworks, and played with the baby!
