New Camera, New Grill

We got our new camera last week. It's been so much fun learning how to use it! I've taken tons of pictures... here are some of our favorites.

The roses looked so beautiful after the thunderstorm yesterday...

William is a good subject because he doesn't mind having his picture taken!

This is my favorite picture so far... It's a great one of him.

Under the bed...

It takes great pictures, I just need to learn how to use all the features. I hope I'll be pretty good with it by the time Madeline gets here in a few weeks!

Some pictures of the house....

We also got a new grill yesterday! I couldn't resist taking some pics of the assembly process...

Reading the instructions (I LOVE this one)...

The finished product! (and maybe a little irritated by the constant picture-taking)

And I'm 36 weeks today!!

Happy Birthday Grandmother!

Happy Birthday to my Grandmother, Daphene Whatley. She turns 80 years young tomorrow! My mom and my sister had a beautiful garden party for her. I couldn't go because my traveling is limited this close to delivery. I hate that I missed it- it looks like it was lovely!

My Grandmother is one of the most special people I've ever known. There has never been a more kind and gentle soul to walk this earth. She is generous and forgiving. She is funny and has a wonderful laugh! She is a perfect southern lady- no one has better manners. If you are lucky enough to spend some time with her, you will soon realize what a beautiful person she is inside and out.

I spent a lot of time with my Grandparents during my summers growing up in Alabama. Even still, the smell of a humid summer day takes me back to their house in Anniston, where Peter, Alison, and I would spend lazy days playing in their yard, swimming, and picking garden vegetables with Granddaddy. We would stay up too late playing checkers, or cards, or dominoes and eating ice cream. We would take trips to places like Rock City, Lookout Mountain, Gatlinburg, Pigeon Forge, and Six Flags. Our Grandparents were FUN!

I thank Grandmother for having such high standards for our good behavior. She didn't put up with any nonsense! She expected us to sit still and behave in church when we went three times a week.

My Grandmother is also a strong and capable woman. I hope she knows how much she has taught me, and how much she means to me. I am so proud she's my mine! I can't wait for my Madeline to meet her!

Happy Birthday Grandmother!
I
love you!
